For Schools

Ready to offer the best for your school's families?  Let's do it!

As a parent, former teacher, and photographer, I've seen every side of picture day.

It can feel like a lot, but with teamwork, communication, and organization, we will offer your families a wonderful experience and amazing portraits!

Before
Picture Day

We meet. In person.

We plan.

I like to connect with you first to ensure we are a good fit, both as humans and businesses. It's important to me that we can look forward to communicating together to provide the families at your school a great experience.  This is a feather in both of our caps, so to speak, so it's crucial that we are on the same page with what will be offered, how it will run, and more.  If we meet in person and it's thumbs up all around, then we get to planning!

A visit to your school also allows us to look at potential spaces to use for picture day, plan logistics, etc.

Once we have a date set for your school's picture day(s), there is still much to be done.  This includes:

✔️ generating a schedule (this can be done by me, you, or together)
✔️ gathering data for each class
✔️ determining our ordering windows and deadlines
✔️ finalizing details such as class photos, teacher portraits

Once all of this is set, we are off to the races!

FAqs

How many children can you photograph in a day?

how do you generate the picture day schedule?

Who chooses the backdrop color?

how long do parents have to order their photos?

what perks do you offer for schools?

This depends on the age range of your school, if you have any infants to photograph, and several factors. In general for a preschool and one photographer, I can typically photograph about 60 children in one morning.  Preschools typically want photos done before lunch so that everyone is as clean and happy as possible.  Larger schools, junior highs, and high schools can cover more children with multiple photographers and backdrops.

Do you offer more elaborate backdrops and sets?

This is something I prefer to do together when we are collaborating together for the first time.  This helps me address any pain points you may have had with previous photographers, and we can trouble shoot any issues you've noticed that you'd like to help disappear.   After our first year together, we typically use the previous year's schedule as a starting place and modify it to fit your current needs.

This is something we do together. It's important that you have a backdrop color/style that matches your school's environment. Since it's also impossible to please everyone, I have found that choosing the color is best done together by a small group.  Some schools will involve a few parents in the decision, and others will choose without parent input.

Ordering windows are typically as follows:
✔️ one week to order with free shipping & school drop off
✔️ four weeks total to order prints and tangible products
✔️ entire school year to order digital files; galleries are typically removed in May or June to prepare for the following school year

I love offering things to help make your lives easier as busy teachers, administrators, and staff.  My offerings include but are not limited to:
✔️ Teacher portraits
✔️ Teacher IDs
✔️ Class photos in composite style
✔️ Student IDs

My portrait style is focused on dynamic portraits of children with a simple backdrop style.  That being said, I do enjoy offering more elaborate sets with props in the spring.  If you'd like to see samples of what I can offer your school, please email me and we can plan a spring picture day as well!
